The Sunset is a rare variety we discovered from a group of AKME Gardens seedlings. Not only is this the best Loquat we have ever tasted, we ranked it amongst one the best tasting fruits we have put in our mouths—even the lesser ripe fruits were sweet enough to enjoy. Sunset has a very nice, thick trunk, and vigorous upright growth with a gorgeous canopy. Seeds are small and aggressive with extraordinary germination rates. The fruit truly stood out with a dark coral orange array which we could not help but admire. Adam’s personal favorite loquat, Kristi named it ‘Sunset’ since such orange tones represent happiness and joyful moods reminiscent of a deep orange sunset in the evening.
